ABOUT THE PROCESS
This is your opportunity to unleash your creative skills and engage in mindfulness through Black and White film photography, it’s also designed to support participants in establishing the basic skills in photography. Film photography allows you to delve into the creative process, it offers the opportunity to disconnect … drawing you to view the landscapes through the lens, acknowledging the light and varied perspectives of the surroundings.
There are many beautiful locations to select from around Lake Macquarie, Central Coast, Newcastle and Hunter Region that can be organised in the booking process. On the day the group is given a camera to use with a roll film, participants are guided through some photography techniques and encourage to explore the use of natural light.
When the session is over, the film is taken to be developed and uploaded to a digital gallery for participants to view. The developed film is sent to either the booking organisation or individual. We can put you in touch with a dark room if you desire to print images straight from the negatives.
This is ideal for groups who are looking to engage and connect with mindfulness, disconnecting from the digital media and encouraging participants to be present in the surrounds. Already successfully facilitated to disengaged youth and disability group, it’s easy to see how this could be a great opportunity for any group. A community group is open to anyone that is interested in this as a creative practice.
THE PROCESS

On the day the group is given a camera to use with a roll film, they are guided through some photography techniques and encourage to explore the use of natural light. Participants are invited to then explore the local area and capture it and assisted in capturing portraits of other willing participants.
When the session is over, the film is taken to be developed and uploaded to a digital gallery for participants to view. The developed film is sent to either the booking organisation or individual. We can put you in touch with a dark room if you desire to print images straight from the negatives. Please allow 3 weeks for film and digital gallery, you will be notified via email when they are ready.
